Testing ODS™ with the National Football League

6D Helmets and testing partner Dynamic Research Inc. have achieved a resounding victory in the esteemed NFL Head Health Challenge III advanced materials development competition. This exclusive competition sought to promote the exploration, design, and advancement of cutting-edge materials for enhanced impact absorption and mitigation within helmets, thus significantly elevating protection against traumatic brain injuries.

The competition, sponsored by the NFL, the U.S. Commerce Department's NIST, GE, and Under Armour, attracted a diverse range of more than 125 companies and academic institutions. After a rigorous evaluation process, 6D Helmets and Dynamic Research were chosen as one of the five finalists to advance to the second phase of the competition, receiving $250,000 to continue research efforts.

Our dedication and ingenuity paid off as we were announced as the ultimate winners among the five selected finalists. Recognizing our outstanding achievement, we were awarded a prize of $500,000 to further support the development of our winning material.

This remarkable success highlights the effectiveness and potential of our ODS™ technology. With applications spanning various industries, including football, hockey, military, equestrian, action sports, and industrial sectors, our winning material demonstrates significant advancements in energy management and force reduction.

As we move forward, we are already implementing the invaluable insights gained from our participation in the Head Health Challenge III into our current range of helmets. The ATR-2 helmet, for instance, has already benefited from these refinements, exemplifying our commitment to continuously improving helmet design for enhanced brain protection.

We remain steadfast in our mission to push the boundaries of innovation and elevate helmet safety standards.
